Delphi was shutout 0-2 by Faith Christian in Lafayette this past Saturday. The Oracles had an opportunity to take the lead in the first half after sophomore defender Colton Britton worked his way from the back into the opposing 18-yard box drawing a foul for a penalty kick. However, Faith’s goalkeeper guessed correctly recording a save that would help to end the half at 0-0. The score line remained the same up until the middle of the second half when Faith scored to take the lead and then followed up with a second to seal the win. Senior goalkeeper Brayton Slifer recorded five saves. Despite the loss, Delphi could see Faith Chrisitian in the sectional championship in a rematch of last year’s double overtime thriller.
The Oracles move to 4-8-1 overall. The team will head to Rossville on Tuesday evening for their last away match of the 2014 season.
