With the end of fall sports nearing, the Delphi Boy’s Tennis team competed in sectionals last week. The sectional was being hosted at Logansport High School. The Oracles started off hot as they blanked the Carroll Cougars 5-0 in the first round. This win advanced them to the second round last Saturday. The Oracles faced off against Lewis Cass. With one and three singles winning their matches for Delphi, plus two more wins from both doubles teams, the Oracles beat Lewis Cass 4-1 moving on to the championship round.
Delphi had to face a tough opponent in Logansport for the sectional title. Unfortunately, the Oracles came up short losing a hard fought match 2-3, and placing second as a team in sectionals. The only winners for Delphi in the championship round were Vladimir Danicic at one singles, and seniors Josh Gilliam and Elliott Atkinson at one doubles. With these wins, those three qualified for regionals and will be back in action this Wednesday. Great job Oracles!
