Coming into Thursday’s matchup Delphi held an impressive 7-0 winning streak at home. This streak looked to continue after they edged Sheridan by 10 with a final score of 51-41 where both Tatum Minier and Myka Roth scored 17 points apiece.
The first quarter came with an upset minded Sheridan Blackhawks as they brought it defensively and held a one point advantage going into the second quarter where Delphi looked to fall even deeper into a slump, managing to only score 8 points in the period and trailing for the first time in weeks going into halftime.
It was a 0-0 mindset for the Lady Oracles though when the second half began and Rylee Lane got in the passing lane’s leading to a Bailey Gasser bucket underneath the hoop followed by an and 1 from Dani Swayze. Sheridan matched this small offensive spurt with a basket of their own only to have the Oracles march down the floor 4 times in a row and score on consecutive possessions from Myka Roth and Tatum Minier who went 4-4 from the free throw line. Gasser finished off the quarter as well as the strong run with a 3 pointer of her own.
The final quarter came with Gasser finishing a bucket as well as getting fouled and sinking her freebie when Delphi and Sheridan began to trade buckets back and forth. Offensive output came all across the board from Lane, Minier, and Roth as well as Gasser.
Delphi stayed poised under pressure of what was one of their closest games in weeks and managed to keep their home record polished finishing with a final of 51-41 and being led by Minier and Roth with 17 while Gasser had 12 of her own. Roth also led the team with 10 rebounds, finishing with a double double while Minier had 8 rebounds and 7 blocks. Rylee Lane shared the wealth of the team’s points with a game high 6 assists.
