The Lady Oracles came out Tuesday night to fend off the scrappy Rossville Hornets all the while working towards another win notched to their 10 game winning streak. They continued this streak with help from Myka Roth’s 20 points and a 48-44 advantage over Rossville for their 11th straight win.
Delphi started out the first half in a somewhat slower fashion, turning the ball over on multiple possessions but managed to find an offensive rhythm with Myka Roth getting to the basket. Junior, Tatum Minier found the bucket inside the paint as well as finding open teammates such as Dani Swayze and Bailey Gasser for threes from all over the arc.
The Oracles held a 6 points lead at the end of the first while Rossville slowly began to chip away at Delphi’s lead going into halftime scoring 11 in the second while turnovers and inefficiency on the glass kept Delphi ahead by a mere 1 point at the break.
Rossville came out hungry in the second half after making a comeback late in the second and feeling like they belonged against such a viable opponent. Foul trouble and uneasy play were what held back the Oracles from blowing the game wide open but Roth’s strong play along with running mates Dani Swayze and Bailey Gasser helped keep Delphi in the game throughout as the game continued to stay close all the way until the end where they finally squeaked out the 48-44 win.
Delphi was led by Myka Roth with 20 points and 5 steals while Gasser and Swayze both had 8 apiece. Gasser also led the team in rebounding with 12 while Swayze led with a game high 5 assists.
