As the IHSAA postseason reaches its most intense stage, three Delphi wrestlers — Wyatt Tudor, Isaiah Frost, and Ethan McIlrath — head into the East Chicago Semi‑State with a shot at qualifying for the State Finals. To advance, each wrestler must survive one of the toughest tests in Indiana high‑school sports: the single‑elimination pod at Semi‑State. Under IHSAA rules, only the winner of each four‑man pod advances to the State Finals, meaning each wrestler must win two consecutive matches—their opening match and their pod final—to earn a trip to Indianapolis. All three took 4th at the Logansport Regional, and the most difficult path. They will face off with a Regional champion before potentially facing the 2/3 seeds in their pod. Wyatt, Sr. 144, comes in at 26-13 and drew Teigan Newell, a junior from Crown Point who is 19-10. His ticket round match will be against the winner of Deleo Castro a senior from Warsaw who is 26-8 or Jared Quezada a freshman of Merrillville at 25-8. Isaiah, Sr. 175, at different points in the year was ranked inside the top 16 in the semi-state. He drew Aiden Ganger a Hobart senior with a record of 26-8, his ticket round match up is Adin Norton a Jr. at 12-5 from South Bend Riley or 31-6 senior Israel Sinnott from Hannover Central. Ethan, Jr. 285, faces the toughest draw on paper with his opening round match in last years 285 state champion Kameron Hazlett from Lowell who's only losses this season did not occur on Hoosier soil at the prestigious Walsh Ironman. He is 34-2 on the year. Should he knock off the defending champ, he would face the winner of Logan Frederickson a 24-5 senior from Bremen or Jake Luedtke a 31-9 sophomore from Lake Central.
