In a Delphi first, Oracle Arena played host to the highest level IHSAA event in it's storied history. The Oracles in the summer proudly accepted the opportunity to host a Semi-State Volleyball tournament. What has always been regarded as one of the finest small school venues, and consistently rated as a "hidden gem" in social media rankings of High School gyms in the United States was on full display when the Athletic Department was notified that due to location and travel they would be hosting the 1A classification. The team rolled out the red carpet for the participants of Rossville, Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian, Northfield, and South Newton, as well as the officials and media required for such a major event. 1,472 fans showed up to support their girls, take in the sights, and visit our local businesses. In the end they were able to witness history as the Rossville Hornets punched their first ticket to the State Finals in volleyball. Tony Bowman the head official for the tournament who traveled from Decatur, IN after the tournament said, "...hospitality here is top notch, we had a great day of volleyball, and this definitely is one of the best volleyball facilities in the state! There are some that equal it, but I can't think of one that beats it." IHSAA Assistant Comissioner Kerrie Rosati who was in attendance echoed the sentiments when she indicated the desire to continue hosting one of the 4 Northern Volleyball Semi-States in Delphi for the foreseeable future.
