Delphi Wrestling topped Wheeler, Frontier, and conference opponent Clinton Prairie on their way to a 3 – 2 finish at the Winamac Super 8 on December 2. Delphi Senior Javon Frost (157) maintained his unbeaten record, advancing to 11 – 0 on the season, having defeated every opponent by pin. Senior Nathan Phebus (150) finished 4 – 1 with pins over West Central and Clinton Prairie. He lost a tough match 5 – 2 against Wheeler before a major decision against Winamac and accepting a forfeit against Frontier. Phebus advanced to 8 – 3 on the season. Sophomore Harrison Bernfield went 4 – 1 in his debut at 138 pounds. Bernfield lost his first match to West Central by fall before picking up pins against his four other opponents. Junior Katie Emerson (106), Sophomore Jacob Adams (113), Sophomore Wyatt Tudor (132), Sophomore Chance Jarrell (165/175), and Junior Brian Cruz (215) finished 3 – 2 on the day. Emerson achieved her first contested win of the season with a quick fall over Frontier. First-year wrestler Adams picked up two pins in his three wins. Tudor picked up two falls to put him at 4 on the season. First-year wrestler Chance Jarrell picked up two pins in his first two matches at 165 but fell by pin in his two matches at 175. Brian Cruz secured a 12 – 7 decision against conference foe Clinton Prairie on his way to a three victory day. Freshman Abe Habbinga (120) picked up his first win of the season in a pin over Frontier. First year wrestler Cooper Roth (144) picked up his first win of the season in an exciting fall over Clinton Prairie.
